Founded in 2007, TCI Academy draws on years of experience and best practices of TCI, creators of innovative K-12 social studies curriculum. TCI has successfully delivered training for over 17 years. TCI Academy will build on this success as we create and deliver fresh, new courses each year.

When you purchase training from TCI Academy, you’ll be trained by some of the best and brightest educators across the nation. TCI Academy Trainers are classroom teachers with years of experience helping their colleagues become highly successful and effective teachers. Our Trainers will partner with you to ensure your school or district receives the latest social studies training in a highly engaging manner.

If your school district is looking to learn about the latest research or refine its teaching practices, think about bringing TCI Academy Trainers to your site. The TCI Academy staff is a group of expert trainers from the field of education ready to design training or consulting for your district.

Although most of our content and examples are drawn from the social studies, the strategies, theory and approach can be translated into language arts and science as well. Please let our Customer Support Representative know so we can customize your training with examples from disciplines other than social studies.

We understand teachers are busy. That is why TCI Academy trainings come to you. No need to find a TCI Academy site. It’s one less thing you need to worry about, when you work with TCI Academy.

Yes. You will be able to earn academic credit for TCI Academy trainings. We are in the process of finalizing our accreditation forms. Soon the forms will be available on our website for teachers to download. Please check back soon.

Yes. You’ll notice that our courses are divided into elementary (K-5) and secondary (6–12) offerings. Teachers from within those groups often derive great benefit from attending a TCI Academy course together because it provides them with an opportunity to share best practices. Of course, single grade level trainings work just fine, too.

Once you have worked with a Customer Support Representative to plan your course schedule, location, dates and times, you can pay with a purchase order, check, or credit card either by phone, fax, or U.S. mail. We must have a form of payment before we can process your order.

Available in spring 2008, TCI Academy Onsite Consulting will provide a powerful way for schools and districts to improve social studies instruction. Over the span of one to three years, a TCI Academy Trainer will work with teachers to provide the tools, infrastructure, and implementation methods to build a rich learning community.
